So I’ve recently experienced my first herpes outbreak. It was horrendous as I was also on my period and had BV. The doctor prescribed me Valtrex 1000mg twice a day for 7 days. I’m done with my prescription but I’m not completely healed yet. I’m not in any pain anymore and I don’t really have blisters, just bright pink spots where they used to be. When I went for my follow up appointment they prescribed me 500mg valtrex to take in case of another flare up. Should I take those until I’m completely healed or should I just let it run its course?
