Did your second baby come earlier or later than first?

Was it a faster labor and delivery?

Answer

First: went till 40+5, labour was 22 hrs, pushed for 2 hrs 
Second: went till 40+6, labour was 7 hrs, pushed for 30 mins

From everything I’ve read, second babies are supposed to come sooner and labor be shorter. I was pretty fortunate when I had my daughter (aside from the horrible back labor), we arrived at the hospital at 3am the day after my due date, got the epidural at 6am, and delivered at 10am. She came out in 3 pushes, took less than 10 minutes. Only needed 2 stitches. I have a feeling I won’t be so lucky this time around, but we’ll see!

Answer

First: 39wks 5 days 17 hour labor with 2 hours of pushing. 
Second: 40wks 5 days 27 hour labor with 15 minutes of pushing.

First: contractions started 10am on due date, baby was born at 10.53pm (about an hour of pushing), 2nd degree internal tear
Second: contractions started 5 days before due date, finally went to the birthing unit after 2.5 days of irregular contractions, baby was born 1hr 3mins later (8 minutes pushing), no tearing

1st: 39w5d. Labor was about 5.5 hours. 
2nd: 38w2d. Labor was about 3 hours.
