It is appropriate for your mother in law to be telling the family about your miscarriage?

Back in February my husband and I lost a baby after trying for three years. We lost the baby 8 days after we got pregnant. Having this miscarriage was very difficult for me during that time of grief my husband’s mother didn’t call, text, come over or do a single thing for or her son. Later on I found out she was telling the family that I miscarriage. Do you think that, that her news to share?

Do you know how I found out my mom told everyyyyoneee....I gotna sympathy card from.my 86 year old grandma...not kidding. So I didnt tell her when we were pregnant again untilm18 weeks. When she asked me if i was i said "well you lost your right to know when you shared news that wasnt yours before..."

I won't be telling my MIL anything in advance. I can 100% see her doing this too. She likes to gossip. I definitely don't think it was her business to tell.

I refuse to tell my MIL the next time I get pregnant. She was very mean when I told her I was pregnant the first time (she’s religious and me and my SO aren’t married) and when I miscarried she told me “maybe you weren’t meant to be a mother” like. Ok. I’ll go over when Im ready and huge and if she’s asks if I am I’ll tell her I’m just fat. (She’s called me fat before too)

I went to my MIL the day I found out I miscarried, I cried in front of her, my two sister in laws and husband. My husband and one of my sister in law came to me and calmed me down. The other sister in law and I weren’t getting along than so she sat there and acted like I wasn’t even there. And my mother in law was sitting across from me and all she was saying was “This wouldn’t happen, if you didn’t sleep on your stomach” mind you I didn’t even know I was pregnant. I took that as “You killed your own baby” so because of that I ain’t never going to her if I ever “God forbid” have another miscarriage. And I know she told the entire family about my miscarriage, because that’s all my in laws do. They talk about each other. I know for a fact that she told my FIL first wife, my MIL is the second wife she is like best friends with the first wife. She told her and I know the first wife definitely told her DILs which I don’t get along with either 🤷‍♀️ so basically the whole family knew without me telling them.

Nope! I have never told my MIL about my miscarriage and I NEVER will. She found out we were struggling to get pregnant and she told everyone. I can’t stand her need to gossip! This is her son and she gossips about us ALL THE TIME. I can’t imagine gossiping about my son!
