Did you have baby shower for 2nd kid?

My first is a boy. I have big items and don’t know what to get for 2nd baby which is a girl.

You could have a Diaper party/Celebration shower if your using all the big stuff from your 1st. You can just tell everyone Diapers and outfits etc would be great gift ideas.

Yes we are my wife carried for us the first time and I’m carrying for us this time and she wanted me to experience the baby shower as well. But we mostly already have all the big things we need cus we kept them from the first and anything big ( car seat and stroller) we kept off the registry cuz we are getting it ourselves and just put some random small things we do need on the registry:) but it doesn’t matter if you wanna have one for your second go for it! My best friend had baby showers for all three of her kids ❤️

I read it’s becoming more common and less of a stigma to have two especially if it’s a different gender.

My moms side is huge, she has 12 siblings. Therefore I have 32 cousins. I’ve gone to at least one baby shower each year, my family has showers no matter what number of baby it is. Some of my aunts have 3 kids etc. My cousins are now having children as well. I think it just depends what your family is used too, we do not mind it, a baby is a joy in our family and it does not matter what number you are on, we have showers all the time.

I think it’s strange when people have more than one shower. I asked my SIL to please not do a sprinkle either. I have almost everything I need from my first. Except clothes since they are opposite genders. It’s definitely faux pas with my family and friends.

I’m the opposite, I have a 21 month old daughter and having a son. We’re going to use all her big stuff, even though our infant car seat has purple cushions, lol. Really the only stuff I’m concerned about is another convertible car seat for when we outgrow the infant seat, and possibly a double stroller. I figure we don’t usually spend a lot on clothes anyway, usually we get stuff from target or Carter’s or amazon, so probably I’ll just send a link to our registry when we send our birth announcement if anyone wants to contribute towards the car seat or stroller. We’re not doing another shower or sprinkle.
