starving my baby??? Breastmilk vs formula

Question

So with my first daughter I formula fed her and she was a great sleeper and very quiet. Well this baby is breastfed except for sometimes I’ll give her a bottle of formula and every time I give her formula she gets all calm and quiet like my first was... So my question is is the reason she is screaming all the time because I’m not giving her enough breastmilk?? Or is it true breastfed babies cry more??? 
She literally cries every time I’m not holding her. Like if she’s not close to the boob she is pissed. I’m so tempted to just give her formula exclusively because it’s sooo hard calming her down enough so she will even breastfeed ugh I’m so discouraged. It doesn’t seem worth me being so stressed all the time and it sucks also because I have a very forceful letdown so she is constantly popping off and crying so I have to switch breasts and HOPE  she takes the other one 😣😩 Sorry to ramble on but there are so many difficulties in breastfeeding it’s insane.. why can’t she just latch and eat then fall asleep 😑

My son is 8 weeks old and I exclusively breastfeed. He is usually calm and only cries when he is hungry, has a dirty diaper or tired. Both my other two were also breastfed. I think as a mom whatever you do for your baby that makes themhealthy and happy is what is best for you both. I would check with the pediatrician first before completing giving up on breastfeeding. Just my two cents.

I started with breastfeeding but my boy was the same. Constantly wanting to eat. I couldn’t go 5 minutes without putting him back on. He then wasn’t really gaining weight if any or back to his birth weight at 4 weeks. So at 5 weeks I swapped to formula, I was too stressed and he was never happy. Now he’s so much more calmer and relaxed and actually happy. I’m glad I made the decision as it’s best for him in the end.

It’s totally normal for breastfed babies to eat more. Unlike formula fed babies, they will nurse for comfort and to just be close to you. It’s just really important to let them nurse often to encourage a good milk supply. Sometimes giving formula can harm your supply because they get too full and won’t nurse as much. I have a lot of those same problems with my newborn. But if this is super stressful for you, it’s totally okay to switch to all formula. Your mental health and feelings are important. You need to be in a good head space to be the best mother for your baby. Reach out to a lactation consultant, and they can help you. Talk to your pediatrician. Breastfeeding is really hard. Nobody really preps you for that. Hang in there, mama!

I know the feeling! I did some research and basically changed up my diet to incorporate more good fatty foods like salmon and avocado and it’s really helped with fattening my milk up and making baba more satisfied. Might not be the same for you but with a shot?

Breastfeeding is definitely a different beast then formula feeding. I EBF for 3 months with my first two and then had to switch the formula due to milk sensitivities. Anywho, fed is best. Before you give up breastfeeding try using a hakaa to catch a bit of the early letdown. It sounds like you’re attempting to feed while engorged. It makes latching hard for baby and chokes them because it’s too much flow at once. The idea is to relieve some of that and then baby will latch better etc. The other perk is then you end up having milk to store away. The other option is exclusively pumping. Some babies do better with that and it is less frustrating than dealing with latch issues for some moms. Just a few thoughts. Good luck, momma!

That’s how my baby was also. So I’m pumping my milk and giving her my breast milk during the day. Towards the evening we use Similac sensitive. And she looks happier also.
