Have a question for you ladies. Any help would be great 😊
So I’m 31 weeks pregnant and plan on breastfeeding my baby girl. We’ve just been to the midwife and she’s told me that from 36 weeks they want me to hand pump my breasts twice a day! To hopefully try and collect the colostrum and bring my milk in quicker. Once I’ve collected the colostrum, to then freeze it and then defrost when baby arrives, bringing it to the hospital. But not before 36 weeks as it could bring on early labour???
Everyone in my family has breastfed and never been asked this. Even my aunt who had a baby this year.
I feel like it defeats the object of me trying to breastfeed, because I’ll be giving my baby a syringe of milk and not my breast?
Has anyone been told/asked to do this?
