Vacation at 32 weeks?

My husbands family normally invites us for a week long beach trip every summer. This summer I will be 32 weeks when they are planning to go. I'd love to go to the beach but I'm a bit worried if I would be able to do it? We will be driving and the 8 hour drive alone seems miserable. Have any of you taken a trip this far into pregnancy? How did it go?

Check with your doctor so they can clear you. Some airlines won’t let you fly past a certain time and you may have to fill out a pregnancy form to fly or travel unless you’re driving. Before 36 weeks is usually fine.

My brother is getting married 5 hours away when I will be 30 weeks and we will be driving down. I am a bridesmaid and am sure my bump will be pretty big by then. I have already taken a 6 hour drive at 18 weeks and honestly being in the car was uncomfortable even at that stage so I am sure it’s gonna be worse the farther along I am. We drive with my small dog who loves to sit on my lap but it was too much pressure on my bump and I had to move him so he was uncomfortable too lol. I have a funeral this weekend so will taking another 6 hour drive this weekend at 20 weeks. For me reclining the seat and having a pillow or airplane head rest thing helps support my head. I pushed the seat back farther so I could stretch my legs from time to time. It’s exhausting but I think once you get to the beach and stay for a week it will def be worth it.

I was 33 weeks when we went on a vacation, which was 8-9hr drive, I was fine, just uncomfortable

Wear compression socks in the car to limit any swelling as well!

I think it's fine! If it's out of country be sure to get insurance and ask to have a pit stop every hour to get up and stretch your legs 😊

I personally wouldn’t as I ended up having complications and emergency Caesarian at 32 weeks. Best to play it safe and stay local to your hospital.
