Am I the only one?

Question

Is anyone else like this? I do NOT want to do any of the "cutesy" stuff. I dont want a pregnancy announcement photo shoot. I dont want a gender reveal. I don't know if it's just because I'm insanely shy or what but I really think it's a waste of time. I mean to each their own and I love looking at other peoples but I just personally dont want to do then for myself. Anyone else feel this way or am I just crazy? Lol

I feel the same way. I think a baby shower is plenty but wow all those extra parties and stuff is just money wasted that can be spent on baby. And to me it just screams look at me look at me all the time.

All I want is a photo shoot of my kids after my son is born. I didnt have maternity photos or a baby shower with either. No gender reveal and my announcemnet was literally a photo of the test posted to Facebook and the words "So I am prego"

Totally felt the same way. Just told family and friends in person (called those who live out of town/country) and did the same when we found out the gender. I’m super outgoing too, but I’m just not a fan of doing that kind of stuff. Which is totally fine! My fiancé is the same and we’re happy just celebrating the way that works for us!

Yeah no you're not obligated to do those things and I didn't do them either!
I AM personally interested in a maternity shoot, but that's literally because I've never had my photos professionally done before and my husband and I could use some decent (face) shots for a variety of non-pregnancy-related reasons 😂😂😂
We had a baby shower on one side and we're having another for the other side of the family, but that's for financial practicality reasons and so our mothers, whom we love dearly, can celebrate their new grandma status to the family and get hyped over their grandbaby-to-be (first time grandmothers on both sides).
Overall though I'm a very pragmatic person and I don't do anything that I consider to be frivolous or unnecessary unless it has some (significantly greater) benefit. Even as a FTM I won't be decking out the nursery to the nines or spending money on things I don't think I'll use. Minimal and not a massive financial burden is what I like, for sure.
It's totally okay to want the things I described that I won't be getting or doing, but it's also okay to not want them either. You do you, girl! 🧡

For our pregnancy announcement & gender reveal, my husband and I just took a couple pictures ourselves of our dogs w/printed out signs. No reveal party though. Not planning on doing any maternity shoots (not crazy about pictures of myself), but we have had a couple baby showers due to both our workplaces wanted to throw us one and also doing a family/friends shower that a few of my former bridesmaids wanted to help throw. I will do some newborn or family photos once the baby gets here though.

With my first I did a gender reveal with just our immediate family. The same for the announcement. I wanted my pregnancy hushed on social media. Then one wrong person found out and It all ended up out there. I for sure did not want maternity pictures. My husband is a photographer and pushed me to do them, just me with him photographing. I’m glad he pushed me to do them because I really love them and it’s nice to look back at the connection I had to our son during my pregnancy.
