It appears I have a difficult choice to make.Today I called the doctor in a worry that I just had a "feeling" something was wrong and I was not pregnant like I should be. We have had 2 ultrasounds transvaginally done at 5w5d and 7w and the gestational sac was the only thing found at 5w5d scan no fetal pole, no yolk sac. They mointored my HGC levels which are still raising constantly. At the 7w scan the gestational sac was measuring only at 5w5d. The doctors said its a blighted ovum, and there is no surviving baby.

My doctors said they were surprised I havent bled yet and want me to think about miscarrying naturally or with a D&C.

I am already at risk for preterm labor in the future due to a past pregnancy and read a study done in Euorpe that found D&C leads to preterm labor in the future. At the same time I am so scared to miscarry naturally of the pain, shame, and possible complications of bleeding too much.

Thought? How many of you have had a D&C anf gone on to have normal pregnancies? Who has miscarried naturally, did it clean out all of the tissue?
