Good Pumping/Pacifier Age ?

Question

Should I wait the 3 to 4 weeks before pumping and introducing a pacifier? I worked so hard to get through these breastfeeding obstacles I don’t want them to be reversed by introducing those things too early and I do not want an oversupply. I go back to work at 3 months so I am in no rush to create a stash.

Honestly I didn’t. I waited two days to introduce the bottle and pacifier. He never had nipple confusion and I nursed until 22 months

I gave my son a pacifier the second night in the hospital and a bottle for the first time at like 5 days old and never had any issues and still don’t and he’s about to be 4 months

We offered breastmilk in a bottle at about a week. And kept offering one every cpl days so that she’d be used to a bottle so momma could have a break and dad could bond too. Never offered a pacifier though. One less thing to wean/ mess up teeth.

I wanted to wait for the pacifier, he ended up being given it as soon as he was born because he was in the NICU.  I didn’t have a choice in the matter.  Had zero impact on our breastfeeding journey.  
I also had a pumping adventure at the beginning.  In the end I’ve chosen just to pump for donation (I’m a milk donor) and if I’m pumping for the babysitter.  It’s a lot more work for me to pump and bottle feed him as my husband’s out of town lots.  
The more you nurse directly, the better your supply will regulate.  Nursing is better for the development of their neck and jaw muscles which helps prevent SIDS.  Same with a pacifier at night.  And the more baby practices nursing the faster they get.  It’s not at all more convenient in the beginning as you need to pump every time they nurse to keep your supply to what baby needs. 
The contact of baby with your body has ALOT of health benefits if you aren’t in a rush.  Personally, I’d recommend getting nursing down pat first and waiting 6 weeks.  But if you’re going to add additional pumping sessions to start building up a freezer stash, then give ‘er!
