When to change car seats? 11 mo old.

Kind of embarrassing to ask, but when do we change car seats and what kind?  Baby girl is 11 months and is looking too big for the one she’s been using since newborn.  Thanks!

We switched at about 6 months. My girl HATED her infant car seat, so we thought she’d like a convertible seat more where she could see out more.

When the child out grows their current seat or by one year. Though it can be changed anytime before that as well. Convertible seats can be used from birth.

We just switched recently and it was more so because we’re having our second babe any day now. Our July baby still fits in her infant car seat but we don’t want to buy another for new baby so we moved her to a convertible. She’s in a Graco 4ever, but we kind of wish we would’ve gone with a Diono. A little more expensive but better quality and a little skinnier for the back seat since we’ll have two car seats back there soon.

Our babe has a super long torso, so even though she was well below the height and weight limits, her head was an inch below the top of her infant seat by around 6 months, so we switched to a Nuna Rava. We like it enough that we bought a second one for the nanny, but it is soooooo heavy to travel with, even in the rolling travel bag that goes with it, so I still want to get the Uppababy Knox as soon as it comes out this summer! Nuna does get points for ease of use in the car, though, for sure.

We changed when she was almost to the max length at 6 months. Check your car seats max weight and hight. My friend still uses a infant seat for her 13 month old step daughter because she still hasn't passed the max limits.

We switched to a convertible car seat back when our lo was 7mos. It basically depends on what the weight and height limits are on your newborn seat. I'd look in the manual.

We changed in my car when he was about 5 months old, my husband still uses the newborn carrier to take him to my MIL every morning but we are buying a convertible when he gets his next check.
