Traveling

I am taking my 5 month old on his first airplane next week. Any tips on flying/travel with an infant?

I’m in the same boat I’ve been told to nurse your LO upon takeoff and before landing because it helps with the popping.

Yes, feed on ascend and descend. Take treats for your flight crew and the people around you... I am going top send you off a similar thing that I did when I traveled with my nephew, it makes the people around you be more understanding and helpful and it's not expensive I usually put ear plugs, some chocolate, candy and a note it goes a long way... there are changing tables in the bathroom if you need them never change your on those nasty seats, take alcohol wipes... wipe seat belt buckle, tray tables, arm rests and windows if your seated by one. Bring a couple of different types of toys that don't make a lot if crazy noise. It will annoy you and others. Lol. If your breast feeding that's great ypu have your own milk but remember some airlines don't have milk on the planes. They also don't have microwaves so they can't warm up anything for you. Talk to the gate agent see if the flight is not full maybe they can leave the seat next to you open for extra comfort for you, baby and whoever else is in your row. Hope this helps....

Take a baby wrap/carrier (even if you’re taking a stroller to the gate. I survived a 12-hour flight and a few shorter flights thanks to the Baby K’tan - wonderful for soothing baby to sleep while keeping your hands free, which is really helpful when walking the aisles and even going to the toilet for a diaper change.

Yes. And go at nap time or super early inAM if possible. Mine slept during his nap time after nursing. The flight back during playtime was...well... playtime 🤪Also, go to doctor before if you even suspect an ear infection. I went the day before and he had one. You’ll want to give antibiotics for at least 24 hours before flying, too.GL
