Contractions?

Question

Every now and then I get a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, it’s been happening every 20 mine or so and last for about 30-45 seconds. It makes me stop in my footsteps and it’ll hurt if I bend over. Are these contractions? I’m only 35 weeks.

That's how my labor started with my 1st son at 38w2d. Just a little sharp twinge, a pinch really for about 5 seconds that came about 20-25 minutes apart. They started getting closer together throughout the morning and afternoon, 18minutes apart and a little longer of a twinge, 14 minutes apart, until they were about 5-6 minutes apart consistently about 8 hours later. That's when they really started to hurt and I could not smile or talk through them. We went to the hospital and I was admitted and 4cm dilated. I had my first baby 9 hours later 😍
Just keep an eye on the time and if they are getting closer together and stay consistent. Could be false labor if they change into the evening or the real thing!

Sounds like it. If you change positions or sit down during one does it help? I’ve heard if you can make yourself more comfortable during one it’s Braxton Hicks but if it’s consistent whether you move or try and walk it off then it’s most likely contractions.
