Pack n play for a newborn?

Me and my husband are going to have our first child in January. We want to buy a pack n play instead of a crib, since the crib is kind of expensive. Is it okay for a newborn to sleep in a pack n play?

Absolutely! Just make sure you only put a fitted sheet in there and nothing else (just as you would for any sleep space).

Oh yeah definitely ok .... they are just as good as a crib.... a little more firm but in the beginning that’s what they want you to have anyways.... and then you can take it where ever you go and they are comfortable 👍

Yes. My baby 9 mo and still in basic pack n play... makes it nice when we travel since we bring it right along in the car. We didnt get a special mattress... just a fitted sheet

Yeah! That’s what I’m using for the first like 6-8 months of his life cause I’ll have him in my room for a while the one I have has a bassinet on it for newborns

We have one that has a bassinet attachment, but are planning on getting a crib too. I think it’s ok for when they are newborns, but when they exceed the bassinet weight limit, it’s going to be hard to lift them all the way in and out of the pack and play.
