Child Support?

My ex husband only will pay me $300 in child support for our two children. He was in jail when we got divorced so the court never gave him an amount he had to pay. This seems like its not very much. We live in Utah. At first I agreed to it cause he was getting back on his feet but he is doing alright. Then the other day he was complaining that 300 was a lot and he wanted to pay me less. Thoughts and suggestions please and thank you.

Keep everything through the courts. Have a formal arrangement created, they will decide if $300 is appropriate.
My coworker gets nothing to when her baby daddy is in jail which is quite frequently 😕

If you don't feel it's enough, go back to court

Go to family court. They'll base it off of his income and make sure he is giving ir to you consistently.

You can update the child support payments based off of his current pay

You could always take him to court and get the amount of child support set by them. Just be aware that it could end up being less or more depending on his situation. Good luck.

There is a child support calculator online, it’s based off of the amount he makes. My. Ex pays 317$ for one child, you can get the amount he pays per month set by family court.

You should go to the child support office and refile if you know he’s making more than before.

How about just take what you can get. He should pay for things when the kids are with him and you should pay for things when you have your kids. And than be thankful you get anything extra. Like what is it with ladies always wanting more and more child support for god sake
