Could this be a rash on baby's butt? Possibly from wiping too much or too hard? Could i push diaper cream on it?

Yes rash, yes diaper cream. Most likely from moisture/poop. Try to air it out and be sure he's completely dry before applying diaper cream. Change diapers more frequently until it's gone.

I always use coconut oil for my kids diaper rashes. It’s moisturizing and has antibacterial properties. A lot of diaper rash creams are really just barriers from the skin to the diaper, they don’t really heal anything, just make it so there isn’t anymore irritation. I find that coconut oil really helps to heal rashes quick and still provide a barrier! You want to make sure you use organic coconut oil and only use that jar for diaper rashes. Have clean hands when going into the jar!
