Birthing methods?

Hi first time mom, 
Was wondering if you have started researching birthing methods, techniques, I feel like there are so many ways to deliver 🙃. I’m kind of interested in water or hypnobirths but very early in my research.

I took a hypnobirthing class for my first. To be honest it was useless for me. But I did still manage to give birth with no meds. My SIL used hypnobirthing and swears she felt no pain. I wish I could say the same!

I’m on baby #4 and I’ve had all different births (no c-section though). First was standard epidural. Second was water birth in a birth center. Third was hospital birth with epidural given at the last minute and failed. This time around I’m planning hospital birth again but getting the epidural earlier. They all had their pros and cons and my biggest advice is just to be open minded because anything can happen!

I’ve started browsing but have not gotten in too deep researching methods. I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself and want to wait till I’m a bit further along. But I have come across hypnobirthing multiple times and that’s something I totally want to consider to see if I can do without meds of possible

Last time I was bugging my doc trying to discover all the options I had, went to the hospital's class and all they said was that it's totally worthless to try and prepare with plans like this because when it's time you'll be surprised and nothing will go according to plan. So yeah, we saw that they had big bathtubs but even when we asked they wouldn't talk about how or when you can use it. 😯 
Long after this I heard the midwives and docs complaining about all the special birth techniques equipment (e.g. huge bathtubs) they had but nobody ever used... 😕 
So my advice: do your own research and ask very specific questions. I asked "when can I use the tub" and got a worthless answer. If I had asked "I wanna use the tub, is there a reason I shouldn't use it right now" they probably would have given me a straight answer 😑
