Period pain

Does anyone else get period pain nearly a week before their period? My cramps started last Wednesday and Thursday I had a bit of an emotional breakdown. I know we’re out this month as we only managed bd once. Still no period but the cramps woke me last night. Thinking this is going to be a period from hell. Does anyone else get cramping that long before?xx
