Anyone not finding out their dilation until in active labor?

I haven’t found out and don’t plan to. I feel like it adds way too much pressure on when baby is expected to come.

38w3d and have yet to be checked. Docs aren’t offering and I’m not asking. Don’t want false hope lol

I wish I would have done this. I was disappointed to find out I wasn’t dialated at all at 38 and 39 weeks.

I’ve been checked twice. Only because I received two sweeps!

I’ve been checked a lot. 3 times during a hospital stay at 34 weeks and about once a week since. I’m 39 Weeks tomorrow. 
I don’t feel like it’s added pressure for me, though. I hated them at first, but now I think it’s cool to be able to check up on how I’m progressing. Been getting them so often because ive been contracting for 4 weeks. But, I’m only 90% thinned.

I did once after a bout of prodromal labor and was severely disappointed so I told myself I wouldn't get checked again. She'll come when she wants to, and I'm only gonna add more anxiety (and unnecessary discomfort!) by getting checked

I was checked last Wednesday but only cause the doctor was checking if baby was head down but I was completely closed so didn’t matter anyway. My midwife doesn’t check until I’m in labour.
