Is your LO in a toddler bed yet?

Just curious to see how many have braved the switch yet!

Not planning on it until #2 needs the crib, or when my first turns 3 or 4. I’m not pregnant yet, so I’ve got a while!

about 3 months ago my son (who is tall for his age) started putting his belly up on the top rail of his crib while tipping forward and picking his feet up..... trying to balance on it.... it was on the lowest possible setting and I was terrified that he was going to tip over and land on his head. so we dropped the mattress down to the floor. that worked for about a month until he got his foot wedged between the mattress and the crib one night and couldnt get it out by himself... the next day i converted it to a toddler bed and he absolutely loves it. he puts himself to bed when he needs a nap and he loves crawling up in it by himself at bedtime. easiest transition ever! I shut bathrooms and secure basement doors before i go to sleep. plus the whole house is baby proofed so he cant get into any trouble if he does get up before I do in the morning. he sleeps all night long from about 8pm to 7am with no issues or escape attempts!  we can check that off the list ✅ next battle.... potty training

Mine loves his crib and sleeps really well, so there's no rush yet. He hasn't tried climbing out either, but that would be an indicator to me he's ready for something different. He'll stay until that happens :)

So I would have originally said no to this but my son be losing the crib this week...literally 30 min ago he was playing in crib before bedtime like he likes to do while I straighten up his room/put clothes away and he grabbed on to side of crib and I said oh you want out...went to put one thing down and in a matter of SECONDS he pulled himself out and I couldn’t catch him in time as he flipped down on to his head. I am still having heart palpitations from envisioning him cracking his neck. So no more crib after tonight (which I won’t be sleeping much, checking on him every half hour) He only cried for 30 seconds and I iced right away for 15 min. Has a small goose egg forming but acting normal otherwise. I’d say make the switch if he is able to pull himself up. It happened sooooo fast and I seriously thought he would not do it for months because he likes his crib and doesn’t typically try to climb all the way out. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We were planning for Christmas, but might talk hubby into Thanksgiving since I just found out I am pregnant and due in March. My daughter is going to be changing rooms and want to make sure she has plenty of time to adjust especially since new baby will be in my daughter's room and will be using her crib. We will see though

Technically her bed is converted to a todd bed buuuut she sleeps in ours so 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
