When you’re taking medicine OTC do you only buy the name brands or sometimes off brands as well? (Tylenol, ibuprofen, midol, pesto-bismol, etc.)

I use the Walmart/equate brand of ibuprofen for my period cramps that are terrible & other occasional pains I have all the time & they work just fine & are much cheaper. To me it isn’t a difference besides the brands. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Off brands are cheaper and work the same, so I prefer getting off brands.

I usually only buy off brand, the active ingredients are almost always the exact same, so you're just paying for the name. Seems like a total waste of money

The only OTC meds I have ever noticed a difference in brands is sleeping medication. Pain pills and such I have never noticed a difference and I purchase what I cheaper.

They are the same exact actice ingredients. Rarely someone will be allergic to an inactive ingredient in one or the other and can only take either the generic or the brand name.
