How to get baby to sleep in the bassinet?

I’m currently this late for the third night in a row because my one week old refuses to sleep in the bassinet. She’ll only sleep in the swing or on my chest. I need her to sleep in the bassinet so I can get some sleep 😩😩😩😩 Any suggestions?

Is she swaddled? If not, give that a try. Also maybe use a heat pack to warm up the bassinet before you lay her in. And remove the heat pack, of course. White noise and a dark room also might help. Good luck!

Put a T-shirt you been wearing near baby and if your breastfeeding even better if it has a little leakage on it. You can either put it under there sheet and leave it there or put lit near there them and remove it once they fully asleep. Baby should settle better with your smell around them.. 😊

Honestly? Being persistent. My daughter went from refusing to sleep in her bassinet, to sleeping the first 4 hour stretch in it, to sleeping in it all night, even after feeding. You have to find what works. We tried everything! Putting her in her Halo swaddle sack and playing white noise relatively loud works best for us. When baby wakes up, just keep putting them back in their bassinet. It will make for some long nights at first, but eventually they take to it, or so mine did. I don’t even bother when she is in a leap though. Leaps make babies weird.

My little one liked a slight incline so I put a folded up recieving blanket under the bassinet mattress where I lay her head...once she got used to sleeping in the bassinet I took it out

Stay consistent. My son hated it for a few weeks but I kept putting him in there and he eventually slept in it.

Swaddle and white noise. Try resting you hand on their tummy, or rubbing their head lightly so they know you're still there. Or wait until they fall asleep and gently transfer them into the bassinet and then cross your fingers lol

My babe is 48 hours old tonight, learnt that he loves the vibration mode on the bassinet, and he finally took the soother.
