My dad was, it was awful growing up in that house. He got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after he started losing a lot of weight and thats when he decided to stop drinking, that was in the early 2000s, he’s fully sober and recovered now. He has his diabetes under good control too.

Someone was. He eventually drank himself to death. He experienced some very horrific things that he couldn't get over so turned to alcohol to try to forget instead. I think he may have had survivors guilt as well and hated the fact that he was still alive.

My whole side of the family are apart from my mom and brother, its always been us three so i dont keep in contact with any other family member, probably like once a year to say merry chirstmas
