Freshman Advice??

I’m going to be a freshman this year and I’m v nervous😬 Can yall drop some advice and tips for school work and how to have new/better friendships. I want to be prepared and feel confident!!

1. If you get homework that night DO IT ASAP. Even if you have a study first block the next day, just do it, you’ll save so much stress. 
2. High school is what you make of it, so join clubs and get involved. I joined speech and debate just cause and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
3. Be courteous. I’m not saying you’re gonna do this, but freshmen tend to be oblivious when they are being obnoxious (yelling in the hall, standing in the middle of hall during passing periods etc) so just be mindful that other people have places to get to
4. Be aware that your friend groups may change, could be a good thing, could be bad
5. Make friends with your teachers. If you are friendly and close to your teachers, they will be more willing to help you out. This is why I have the grades that I do.
6. If you don’t understand something in a class, ASK. That can be during class or after, but the teacher really appreciates feedback and they want to help (most of the time). If you think you’re asking too many questions, you probably aren’t so don’t stress

1) make sure you do all of your assignments when you get them, trust me you don’t want to have to do them all at the end of the marking period!
2) make sure you do sports or clubs you will regret it if you don’t! (You also get a rope when you graduate if you do the same sport or club all four years!) 
3) be very , very careful who you tell your personal stuff to , even if you think that the person your going to be your friend forever you may not be in a few months.

This is a list I made my very LAST week of high school as an assignment! (A few may not apply to you, as I don’t know if every high school is like mine) 
Stay organized; it will make your life SO much easier throughout the year
Turn your stuff in; getting partial credit is better than getting no credit
Be nice to everyone, even if it seems hard sometimes, because you will waste time if you hold grudges
Try being involved in everything, but don’t feel like you have to do everything for your entire four years (do what YOU want to do, not what everyone else thinks you should be doing)
Don’t be ashamed to ask for help/use ALL of your resources
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone; this will pay off and make you more comfortable and confident as you transition out of high school
Don’t take yourself too seriously; high school should be fun and it is the last time you’ll be with all of your classmates, so don’t waste time being uptight
NEVER choose your boyfriend/girlfriend over your friends; chances are that your friends will last and your relationship will not, and you don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy in high school
Try to be engaged in all classes, even if you don’t love the subject material; it makes your day so much more fun and your teachers will like you more
A few things you ALWAYS need to have in your bookbag or car: phone charger, laptop charger, chapstick, lotion, money, an extra set of clothes, headphones, ibuprofen, gum
