When did you get your blood test to confirm pregnancy?

How soon after your BFP did you go to your doctors to confirm via blood test?
I’ve heard people saying that they got a positive pregnancy test, but when got blood work done it was negative. 
I just got my BFP today and wondering when the best time to get a blood test is.

Never. Called OB and they asked the first day of my last period. They then scheduled an 8 week appointment for me with Transvaginal ultrasound.

Never. Positive pregnancy test, called doctor the next day to schedule, went in the next week for an ultrasound. They don’t do bloodwork to confirm pregnancy unless something is wrong.

Positive at 3 weeks 4 days, went in at about 5 weeks ish and got a urine test and blood work done to confirm HCG and Progesterone levels. I did have suspected PCOS, as well as my mom having a history of miscarriages so that may have attributed to it.

I got a faint positive. Did urine test the next day and it said negative. I insisted on my husband to do a blood test the next day and sure enough it was positive. 12 weeks now 💕

Never. I took a pregnancy test when I missed my period. It was positive. I called the dr and made an appointment. They wouldn't see me until I was around 10 weeks and they didn't even do a test they just did a ultrasound.

I never have. Have only ever had one done when I had bleeding in my third pregnancy.

With my first, never. With this one, I started getting my HCG checked immediately but it’s because I had a history of ectopic since my first. Unless you’ve had a history, I don’t think a lot of doctors do that. You schedule your first appointment somewhere between eight and 12 weeks, and they’ll do a pee test. You’ll eventually get labs drawn in the first trimester, but that’s a lot of screening for everything under the sun, not a blood HCG test.

Never as far as I know. I don't think it's standard procedure in Germany because the take home tests are so accurate. They confirmed it with a scan instead. Call your doctor today and they'll tell you when to come in. Congrats!
