A sad rant š©
So this is my cat, flanders. My daughter was born early which caused me to be behind on my bills and had to move back in with my parents until I get back on my feet. I have 2 dogs who came with me but my friend kept my cat because my parents dogs hate cats and it wouldnāt be fair to him to be locked in a room all day. So he went to my friends house until I get a house. A little back story: I worked at an animal rescue for 3 years before having my daughter and my friend who kept my cat worked there in the cat room so he is familiar with her. She also has 2 cats and a dog and isnāt a stranger to other animals so I know he wasnāt stressed about them.
Everything was going good up until a few weeks ago. She said he started spraying, since the day I adopted him he has not once sprayed. And heās neutered. I can understand that all of a sudden he got ripped from his home and went to a new home temporarily and is stressed but apparently he āruinedā her furniture by scratching including her screens and walls. I really donāt know why he did it or maybe he is just over reacting and telling me stories but I had him for 3 years and not once has he sprayed, scratched or acted up. My friend would come to my house often and Iād even bring my cat to her house for play dates with her cats.
My only other option is to surrender him back to the shelter he came from. Iām extremely freaking upset on this whole situation. I canāt pay for boarding because itās $10 a day there and i donāt know when Iāll get a house. I feel like a terrible person but I literally have no other option.
