Would you consider it cheating?

I found out that my husband was talking to his ex, for a year almost two, after he promised 5 years ago that he wasn’t to talk to her. They were together for 8 years and after they broke up up to this day we are together for 8 years with a baby of almost 2 years. 
Would you consider it a cheating? What would you do if this was your case?

I think its emotional cheating. They obviously have chemistry and unfinished business. He needs to respect his marriage to you. A marriage is between 2 people and only 2 people. If he needs to connect with someone it should be his wife.

I think it’s emotional cheating. Anything like that is. Anything you hide from your SO is considered emotional cheating to me.

Not cheating. Talking to someone isn’t cheating but it’s disrespectful since you asked him not to. If they ended things well and clearly don’t have any feelings for each other then I see no problem but you already told him not to. Talk to him about it!

It’s emotional cheating if the messages where flirty and full of emotion.
That being said, if they have a child together, and we’re together for a while, it could just be healthy coparenting?

If he’s flirting or being inappropriate in any way, yes. 
If he’s just talking normally, it’s not necessarily cheating but I personally feel like that’s messed up. He told you he’d stop talking to her so I don’t see any reason he’d need to contact her. Him hiding it is a bad sign and it’s only going to cause problems...
