No more Similac

My sister in law took her 7 month old off of similac so now her diet consists of water , cereal and baby food . I told her I didn’t think it was a good idea and she didn’t consult with the doc first. But her excuse is it’s getting too expensive. Have anyone else taken their child off of formula so early ?
