Wondering when everyone either had or will have their first ultrasound? I was told my doctor won’t do an ultrasound or even listen for heartbeat at my first appt in week 8. Is this normal?

I’m seeing a nurse midwife and know they are a little more hands off, but we won’t have an US until near end of first trimester if this is the case. I tested early at 3 w+4 and the wait is making me more anxious especially after previous miscarriages. Am I able to request an US? Anyone else use nurse midwife?
