Did you feel pain with pushing if you had an epidural?

I had an epidural but the pain during pushing was UNREAL. They told me it would just feel like pressure but it was definitely way more than that. Friends told me they couldn’t feel anything during pushing so just curious if what I experienced was normal?

My first one I ran out of epidural so I felt a little bit of pain but nothing too bad. Second baby I just felt a lot of pressure. It made me get chills

I think it depends on how it’s placed, and how your body responds to it. This was my second birth and again my left side didn’t really take the epidural. So I felt most everything on that side, and I definitely felt the baby coming out, which was way more than pressure.

I think mine was a mix of pain and pressure, but mostly pressure.

With my first my epidural ran out so I had pain. With this one I got the epidural as her head was coming out so it kicked in as I began to push so I felt nothing

I didn’t feel anything down there. The pain I felt was my baby pushing her foot up into my rib cage. So, while I was pushing her down, she was pushing up on me. I only felt pain in my right ribs.

Pressure and I did feel myself tear but that was the only thing pain. I could feel her stitching me but it wasn’t too bad

My son was born via C Section under general anesthesia 2 days ago after the epidural failed when I could feel them cut me open. Prior to the section they attempted suction cup and forceps delivery which I was given a spinal block for which also failed. Although I couldn't feel any of that pain it was just pressure, I could definitely feel the pain of the section cut. So strange.
