To late for pregnancy?

My period is due in 7 days and I started taking folic acid today but I heard to take it a month before conceiving. Is it too late if I want to get pregnant next months

Ideally you should be taking a good prenatal vitamin w folate (rather than folic acid) 3mo prior to pregnancy (folate is absorbed better)
