How long do you walk your large dog each day?

I'm just curious. I thought the longer the walks the better, but my vet said over 3 hours a day is overdoing it. 🐶⛰️

We don’t walk our dogs cause we have 15 acres for them to run. I’m pretty sure they get over 3hrs or walk time a day and they’re both geriatric. So don’t think 3 hrs can be too much, unless your dogs has a condition where they can’t have that much activity.

Our pits stay outside because they’re too big and rowdy (they like it outside and we have a fence so they can’t get out) while our chihuahua stays inside and goes out for however long she wants them she scratches to let us now when she wants back in. We don’t really walk our dogs because they’re bad on leashes and they don’t like them.

My dog goes on two walks a day, both are about an hour long. And she gets put outside whenever she goes to the door, I don’t think you can overdo it personally, if you’re an active person you’re bound to have an active dog too 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s not like you’re forcing your dog to walk more than it wants to, your dog probably loves it

Its warm right now and i got a husky.. So i walk mine during the morning and evening for a longer period of time.. During the day she just does her business and walks back to the house on her own 😂 there is a lake nearby tho and she could stay there all day if i let her. The walking etc depends on the dog.. I mean huskies were bred to pull sleds and i doubt they only used them 3h a day.. It all depends on your dog and what its used to, if u always walked a lot, then your dog built the necessary stamina for it and it wont do any harm to the dog to walk lots.

My dog is super lazy so she gets short walks through the week but on weekends when we’re not working we’ll take her for long walks about 2-3 miles

I don’t walk mine because they’re sassy & I’m 37 weeks pregnant, but I let them run around in our fenced backyard. I’ll also go out there & throw the ball for them for 10-15 minutes probably 3-4 times each day.
