How often does your SO hang out with friends?

My boyfriend of 5 years is 20 and it seems like he sees his friends a lot. He hangs out with them several times per week and on weekends. If I want to hang out with him we have to make plans in advance. We planned on going to see fireworks for 4th of July and I accidentally told him the wrong day (Friday) and I told him the next day I meant Saturday and he said he can’t go now because he already told his friends he was seeing me Friday and made plans with them Saturday. I respect that, but it just seems like he sees them way more than normal. How often do your SOs hang out with friends?

I’m going to be more honest than some would like and no it’s not every case but it is most cases.. a 20yr old boy goes out a lot period. Maybe not in the 20s but definitely in 2019... ppl should be honest with you, once he is legal it will happen more for a spand of time then he can chose.. but you’ve been around for 5 years which is longer than he has even had this amount of freedom.. he wants to go out and a20yo boy thinks you’ll be around for it... that’s just the truth .. I don’t like it but I went through it when I was younger.. I’m 28 now and dating a 34yo ... he stays home ... good luck and stay realistic love 💕

Your bf is TWENTY years old. What do you expect?  He’s gonna be doing this for the next 5-6 years. If you intend to stay together, get used to it.

I’ve been with my husband since we were 17. Between the ages 18-25 he was with his friends many times a week or they were at our place(we had a child, so he didn’t go out clubbing very often) You both are really young and should experience life. About 26-28 his friends started to settle down too so now it’s a few times a month. It’s very normal to want to be with friends a lot right now. Just be sure that you schedule in time for each other too or hangout in groups which can be a lot of fun.

My husband is an introvert and rarely goes out. Most of my friends are all still single (we are in our 30s) so he doesn’t want to be the only guy. So he rarely comes out when I go out. I try to at least once a month.

I mean he is only 20 years old. And I see other comments saying he’s still young what else do you expect BUT he’s in a relationship he’s still young yes but that doesn’t make it right to ALWAYS be with his friends than you it’s like he’s more committed to his friends than his own relationship. Regardless of you and him was together for 5 years and not saying it’s bad that he hangs out with his friends but I think it’s only fair to balance things out have time for his friends and also make time for you, it’s not fair that you have to plan to spend time with your own boyfriend.

If he’s not putting in the time and effort to spend time with you... that’s not okay IMO. 
You shouldn’t be the one trying to plan everything and be ‘penciled in’ around his friends. 
5 years is a long time so I think this warrants a conversation with him about it.

My husband hung out with friends last Friday.  The time before that was the night before I went into labor with my daughter. She'll be 9 months Sunday.  He's very much a homebody and prefers it this way.

Been with my bf for 4 years and he hardly ever hangs out with his best friend. But he tells me its cause he enjoys spending most of his time with me🙄 but he gets a week off of work every 4-6 months and that’s when he goes and hangs with his best friend for 3 days.
