Does apple belong in salad?

My mom always puts diced apples in every. single. salad. she makes. I have never understood that habit.

Some people like fruit in theirs but I personally don’t.

The quinoa salad recipe I use calls for diced apple and dried cranberries as well as olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Don’t think I’ve had apple in like a regular garden salad tho. (I did once have lobster and watermelon salad at a seafood place)

Chicken salad and surprisingly good in potato salad (look up Brazilian potato salad, it's soo good!) But personally not my fav in regular green salad. Strawberries are better in leafy salad,  maybe make her a salad with strawberries and see if she's open to change. Also, if she's open to that substitute try dried cranberries and sunflower seeds! Maybe you can get her to switch it up a bit with similar, but different flavors.

Fruit salad, yes. Regular vegetable salad, no, since that’s usually for vegetables. But what would I know, I don’t eat regular salads 😂
