When your job stresses you out what do you do?

My job is stressing me out. I don't like managing others. 
I think everyone should manage themselves, but then they don't. 
Tell me about your job stresses!

this is cliche but i pray. i come with a positive mindset and pray that each day goes well... and fast. LOL! 
it doesnt always go as planned but after each day if i need to vent i have someone who is on my side.
my sister is like "what that bitch at work said today" or "did you say what i told you to say" or "do i need to come up there to kick some ass". shes always making me feel better and shes always willing to let me vent and relieve my stress so i dont kill anybody!!!
I also light candles and unwind by listening to noise like a waterfall or somekind of soothing music so i dont think, i just relax...
tbis is just my way to unwind since i dont smoke anything nor drink... im pretty vanilla lol... take it easy babe 💋

So, here's the thing about being a manager...the reason you have been promoted to manager is that you are able to do well at your job duties, manage your work effectively, etc. Some employees will never be promoted to a manager position (or maybe they will with time but aren't there yet) because they don't have these same skills.
The point being that there's a reason for having managers beyond adding in unnecessary overhead. Coaching employees so they can develop the skills you have is part of the job.
If there's someone else in your organization that's a good manager, see if they can mentor you a bit on that aspect of the job. It's all part of the learning curve!

I’m a teacher so I manage people all day (specifically 8th graders). It’s exhausting and definitely stressful at times. I do a lot of counting and breathing bc I can’t walk away from them. And I definitely make time to decompress outside of work, during my prep, and my lunch.

It took me a long time to figure out how to do my work successfully while also “not giving a $@&$”. At the end of the day- It’s just a job, not your life. At the end of the day- the people you work with are just coworkers, not people you go home to at night.

I’m a teacher, so taking time off just adds more stress. I usually go in earlier because getting more work done lessens what’s on my plate and helps me feel like I’m more prepared. Then at night I watch a tv show that I enjoy or I read a book for enjoyment.

I'm the Executive Director of a mental health agency. I firmly belive a strong work/life balance leads to better employees. That's why I offer unlimited PTO to billing staff and 5 weeks per year to admin staff on top of paid holidays. And I lead by example. If i want to have breakfast with my husband I'll go in late on a Tuesday morning and I want my staff to do the same.

I work as an RN in the second busiest ER in the state for the past 10 years. I have seen horrific things during my career, things no one should ever have to endure. I’ve been assaulted and my life has been threatened more times than I can count. In the beginning of my career, I turned to alcohol. Who doesn’t want a glass of wine to numb the day?! But, I quickly realized that is an unhealthy behavior to have. Since then, I’ve turned to exercise, especially lifting weights. There’s something so empowering about it not to mention the health benefits that are incorporated as well. I also take time off, put the phone down and truly relax. Life is too short to allow others to steal your joy.

Meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness, leaving work at work as much as possible. Also exercise: walk or run outdoors, if you are angry at co-workers try exercise that has you kicking and throwing punches to blow off some steam.
