Is it normal to get light headed on your period?

Is it normal to get really hot and light headed while on your period?
I'm currently at work on day 2 of my period (which is one of the heavier days) 
And I had to stop working and go and sit down because I got really light headed and felt like I was going to faint.

I get hot flashes on my period. Like ill be sweating to death and everyone around me is cool as a cucumber

I don’t know is it normal or not, but I feel the same on my first day

I’ve actually fainted on my period due to dehydration, heat, and lack of food (my period makes me not hungry on my first few days due to cramps. Stay hydrated!!
