Are progesterone pills effective to prevent miscarriage? I’m 5wks, lots of bleeding. No baby on ultrasound. Urine&Blood test ++. Doctor says I’m 5wks has me on progesterone and bedrest.

I am taking progesterone now at 5 weeks due to bleeding. Ultrasound showed nothing. Urine and blood test say I’m pregnant. Doctor has me taking one progesterone pill every twelve hours until I stop bleeding I am to be on bedrest. Anyone have this and have a successful pregnancy? What are everyone’s thoughts? Any similar stories?

I had two miscarriages in 2015. In 2016 I was pregnant with my son and experienced bleeding early on and was prescribed progesterone. Had a healthy pregnancy and 10lb baby

I had bleeding and cramping at 5 weeks and my lab worked showed my progesterone only being 3.2. I have been taking 200mg of progesterone vaginal twice a day. My bleeding and cramping has stopped and my ultrasound Tuesday showed baby healthy with a good heartbeat of 167 at 8 weeks

If you don't mind me asking, what was your progesterone level?? Mine went from 34.4 to 25 since last Thursday. Im not sure at what point a doctor will put you on progesterone pills.
