No ultrasounds till 20 weeks?!

I set up my first 2 doctors appointments for 6 and 12 weeks and when I asked what to expect/if they’d be doing ultrasounds they said they don’t do any till 20 weeks!! I feel like that’s really late. Anyone else in the same boat or is my clinic just weird?!

That’s different... but I’m surprised they aren’t going to at least do a dating ultrasound (before 12 weeks), so they can give you a more exact due date and make sure baby is on track with growth development. 
Remember, you are not bound to that clinic! If you aren’t happy, call around and see if another OB will do an ultrasound sooner.

That’s weird. There’s always at least one early scan for dating purposes, confirmation of embryo, etc. THEN next ultrasound is at 20 at least that’s how it was for me on my first pregnancy. One at 8 weeks then 20. 
Now since I’ve had 2 losses I had one at 6 weeks 2 days and next ones at 9 weeks 1 day. Idk what the plan is after that since it’s my first time with a high risk ob

That's what mine does. I'm amazed by all the early scans people get! I'll hear the heartbeat on the doppler every appointment from 10 weeks on. Theres no need though if you have regular cycles and are low risk.

It’s normal in my area! You only get one scan at 20 weeks, unless there are concerns. This app actually misleads me on a lot of things...must just be different depending on location!

Wow thanks for all the great feedback ladies! I’ll have to ask if I can at least get a dating ultrasound or one to check the heartbeat. Since I miscarried last time I would think I might get a first one just to see if all is ok. But glad to hear all the variety of timings of ultrasounds from u guys, thank you!

With my first pregnancy, my OB office had me wait until 20 weeks for my first ultrasound and it wasn’t until that 20 week ultrasound that they discovered I was pregnant with twins. Now, they do things differently at that office and give everyone a 1st trimester ultrasound.

My first pregnancy i had a good amount of ultrasounds. They would ask if i wanted to see. I was i like hell yes. My first doctor appointment isn't til next month. I'll be ten weeks with my first ultrasound.

I was just talking about that with my husband.. all three of my live birth pregnancy had at least 3 ... well I guess my first one I only had one ... but she came at 28 weeks
