‘Lou’ for a girls middle name?

I made the mistake of telling someone our name for our girl and I got a 😮😧 “what?!” response....🙄 and she followed it up by “I always think of Lou as a hillbilly name.”

Don’t doubt YOUR name choice based on other people. Literally means nothing at all what they think. I liked a named with our daughter but got such a reaction I didn’t go with it even though it was so fricking cute. I might use it next time. Filippa/philipa I hadn’t decided on speaking. I think it’s a beautiful name and has cute nicknames like “pippa” or “pia” even because I named our first Mia and I think rhyming nicknames would be cute.
This jerk of a girl I’m not even friends with though absolutely mocked the hell out of it and it was so embarrassing that my partner pretended he was the one that came up with it to cover so my emotional, pregnant self, wouldn’t be as hurt.

My moms name is Linda but she doesn’t have a middle name. Everyone has always called her Linda Lou like in that Little Feat song Down on the Farm. Shes more of a hippy than a hillbilly
