Smell?? TMI

Question

For years and years I always had a smell down there...like is not bad but I can smell it when I masturbate and stuff I’m 15 I have a shower every other day could that be the reason? I do wash good but maybe I should start everyday? (My schedule is busy busy) I don’t have BV unless it can last for 6+ years cause I’ve always had a smell...I don’t know what’s wrong I’m not sexually active either...

All vaginas have a smell. It doesn't mean other people can smell it. And it doesn't mean that if your significant other does smell it, it will turn them off. As long as your hygiene is on point meaning you take a bath or shower daily and change your underclothes once a day, you probably have nothing to worry about. I've noticed my vagina has less of a smell if I keep my hair down there trimmed. You actually shouldn't shave it all off though because it serves a purpose. I work in the medical field, a nurse practitioner I work with once said "a vag is going to vag" . Referring to the natural female smell. He didn't say it in a rude way, but rather in a reassuring way. He had just done a pelvic exam on a woman who thought she had a bad smell but actually didn't, I was in the room and can tell you there was barely a smell what so ever.

As long as it isn’t fishy, you are perfectly fine. I talked to my doctor about my smell that I’ve had for years and she told me that most women think something is wrong when there isn’t. As long as you have no irritation or weird discharge, you are okay
