When to wash and organize baby clothes?

I have a couple bags of baby clothes that were given to me by a friend! Sorry if thjs is a really stupid question, I’m very new to all of this and am definitely an over thinker lol  but if I wash them now, will i have to rewash closer to when baby will be born? I’m 20 weeks. Also is there certain detergents that are better for newborn skin?
I should also note that due to a friend still living with hubby and I until a month before baby is born, we won’t be setting baby’s room up until then so I’m going to organize her clothes into totes until we can start her room

I would wait til like 35 weeks to wash them. Personally I use baby draft I know some people who just use unscented dye free laundry detergent for sensitive skin.

I’m not washing until 35 weeks or so and I’m only going to wash what I need in the beginning. If you do it too early, the clothes will start collecting dust and just get not so clean. I’m also not getting anything fancy for detergent. We use tide free and gentle and plan on using it going forward. Zero chance I’m going to have time to clean the kids clothes and my clothes separately.

I just did mine at 32 weeks. I used All Free & Clear. Anything without dyes or perfumes is good.

I used a none bio but did put a cup full on antibacterial clothes cleaner in the hand me downs just to be on the safe side.

I washed all my baby clothes around 34 weeks. I just use all free and clear detergent that’s what we use for the whole family. My daughter is 9 weeks old and she’s been fine with it.

I started washing stuff and I’m 23 weeks! I bought baby hangers and little dividers for his closet and I wanted to get the clothes I have now all cleaned and organized! 💙

I recommend just about anything that says “Free & Clear”. Seventh generation and and Babyganics are my fave. I always aim for best quality and less unnecessary ingredients when it comes to baby stuff. 
I started washing stuff as soon as I had enough to make a full load worth, and had it all cleaned and organized right after my baby shower (around 34 weeks).
