Early miscarriage??

So, I am not TTC. But AF was late so I took a home test (3 days late), it was negative. I began lightly bleeding yesterday (8 days late) with a little bit of back pain, typical for my periods lately. Then this morning I was bleeding heavily and had something strange hanging out. I had never seen anything like it before. It looked like tissue and it broke apart when I pressed on it. There were clots too. My back hurt pretty bad this morning as well. Tonight when I pulled the tampon out it was pretty well dry, not normal.

I have a 7 month old baby. My period hasn’t gone back to normal. But the heavy bleeding and back pain was normal before I got pregnant. (Not the tissue)

I did some research. The pictures I’ve seen that many believe is early miscarriage tissue look almost identical to the tissue I passed today. Should I take a home test or go to the doctor?? Or should I even open myself up to the possibility of the pain of knowing I miscarried??

My sister-in-law has miscarried. So, I don’t want to ask my husband’s family for advice since they’ve suffered a loss in the past. My family hasn’t miscarried. They know nothing about it.
