Is it weird?

So my bf has a 16 month old son from a previous relationship (the girl lied about being on birth control). I love his son and he follows me everywhere I go. When we all 3 go out in public everyone mistakes him as my child and for some reason it makes me uncomfortable so I usually let them know he isn’t mine. My boyfriend tells me to play along with it but it just makes me feel weird. What’s you’re guys opinions?

It depends on who they are or what they said.
If it's just a stranger and they said your son\daughter is so cute! I would just say "thank you" and go about my day. If they told me they looked just like me I would say "aww he\she isn't mine but thank you". If it's someone I know but haven't seen I awhile I would just say it's my stepchild. No need to explain more.

Answer

Depends on the situation really. I wouldn't really spend time explaining it to a stranger who might tell me my kid is cute. But I would obviously tell it if it was someone I might see again.
