Umbilical cord?

My daughters umbilical cord fell off last night, but she still has some pieces of it in her belly button that didn’t come out. Should I wait for them to flake off or am I supposed to clean them out? I just don’t want to get it wet if it isn’t completely healed...

My son’s fell off and left a little bit behind. The last little piece came off the next day. Don’t wet it. It will come off before long.

My baby’s doctor had got a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and took the rest of it off.

Leave it be usually still needs to heal up a bit just keep cleaning it the way you were let it air dry and the rest will come off

I just went through this, thinking something was wrong with my daughters. It fell off but still had a massive scab on top of her belly button. If the scab doesn't fall off by itself it most likely isn't healed underneath. 
Lots of air and it will dry up and fall off, my daughters started to bleed yesterday, so I let it air out all day and it fell off this morning. 
Just clean it as you have been.
