Fault/no fault states

Erin

I see posts on here where a husband or wife cheat and they say they are going to take everything from the cheater. Being in CA this always throws me because it’s a no fault state, as in cheating doesn’t guarantee you get more money. The only way to get alimony is by proving you were supported by your spouse and if you were married under 10 years you get alimony 1/2 the time of the marriage.

What do you think makes the most sense? I personally like the way CA does it. Cheating sucks but it shouldn’t be attached to money in my opinion. I personally got a prenup in place because it’s just smart and like it or not marriage is a business transaction. Even if my husband wanted to he wouldn’t be getting my money. Sorry honey! Lol!
