With a near perfect pregnancy and smooth labor process on a perfectly term baby (arrived on her due date), I never expected such a traumatic birth or for my baby to be whisked away to the NICU before I could hold her or see her.

Once I was able to see her and find out that she was going to be okay I was a little more at ease, but I missed so much of what I was expecting. We had no immediate skin to skin, no latch within minutes of life. No “golden hour” with just me, my husband, and daughter.”

But yesterday I was able to breastfeed my little peanut. She latched so well and fed for almost an hour. Most amazing experience of my life!!!
