Quick question

I work in a daycare and last week I was telling my manager that everyone was sick. The babies ended up having fevers and she didn’t send them home because she said they were teething. They had a really bad cough, green mucus, and red eyes. With the fevers. Still she wouldn’t listen to me. Come Thursday I start getting sick. Friday I get a fever and I still have the fever it won’t go away at all. A baby has been in the hospital and has been diagnosed with human metapneumovirus. Can adults get it? I’m literally suffering at work right now.
