Benadryl OK for EBF mom?

Hey guys, sometimes I get really bad headaches and nothing seems to help except going to bed and taking a Benadryl/sleeping it off. I have a really good supply so I’m not worried about losing it BUT is it ok to take Benadryl while bf?

Not bad for baby as per my pediatrician and I did not see a supply drop the three times I have taken it in the last two months. I think it can dry you up if used often and there’s some instances of baby being sleepy or irritable after nursing when you use it. I would guess all of those negatives are with regular use versus just once in awhile. Good luck!

According to my doctor, it's okay in the sense that it won't harm baby. However speaking from personal experience, I noticed a significant decrease in my supply when I took some. Granted my son was still a newborn and we were nursing around the clock. So depending on how often you nurse now, you may be just fine.
