birth defects after zofran ?

Has anyone on here their baby have birth defects after taking zofran ? I’ve heard many different things. My nausea and vomiting is so bad and I’ve tired 3 different medications and nothing has helped ! My doctor says the benefits of it outweigh the risks because of how sick I am and that it’s okay. I’m 8 weeks. I’ve only been told that it’s not recommended in the first trimester .

Honestly it’s not even worth the risks! I’m getting ready to look into a class action law suit because they gave it to me in the first trimester which is a huge no and my son was born with 6 major heart defects (which I’ve almost lost him to numerous times). I can’t be for sure that it caused it but I’m pregnant with #2 and I refuse to take it at all.

I took zofran with both my pregnancies. Both my girls are perfect and healthy. Ones almost 12 and ones almost 1. I was so sick. I weighted less a 9 months then before I got pregnant with my first and only gained 2lbs with my second. It was a life saver for me. I know lots of other woman who took it. Most off their kids are fine. My SIL took it and her son had a cleft lip. But they can't say for sure that's what caused it.

I’ve been taking zofran once a day for the past 3 weeks because I am miserable 
Any medication can cause something 
Zofran was off the market for pregnancy and is now back on 
You can not take anything during pregnancy and your baby can still have birth defects for whatever reason 
Some women are positive it was zofran that did stuff and some will say “I’m not sure” 
Even foods can affect pregnancy 
I would go with what you feel like 
If need to talk to your dr again and pharmacist 
They are the ones you should feel comfortable with on their answers not us

All 3 of my sil kids have seizures. There is no family history on either side. The only thing she did was take Zofran. I wouldn't risk it

I wouldn’t take it! My sister in law took it while pregnant & my niece was born with only one kidney which is one of the “risks” they say to be careful of. 
There’s a whole law suit about it and everything now.

How far along are you and how are you taking it?

I mean yes it has risks, but if you’re vomiting over 20 times a day, unable to keep a single thing down, are so dehydrated constantly, and in a complete ketoacidotic state, that is extremely risky too. Especially if it goes on the whole pregnancy! 
If you have regular morning sickness, yeah maybe try to avoid it. If you have severe HG though being scare mongered into not taking it and suffering, ultimately causing untold harm to both you and your baby the benefits NEED to be weighed against the risks.

It’s fine to take. You being that sick is Not good for the baby. You’ve even tried other things so it’s time to go with the ‘last option’. Benefits outweigh risk when both your health and baby’s are at risk right now with nothing. I work at an OB office and it’s what it most prescribed because women are so sick.

I’ve seen where Zofran can cause defects but have you tried unisom and b6 vitamin? That’s the only thing that worked for me.
