how soon is too soon to test?

i had unprotected sex on the 12th for like two seconds during my fertile week and he didn’t finish inside of me. i went to the doctors for birth control on the 25th, they tested me and it came out negative, it was the first time i peed that day so i was wondering if the result could’ve been inaccurate because of when i took it? my period is a day late now but i have been very stressed recently so it could be from that.
